Eligibility
Players must be 4 prior to Aug 1 for the Fall seasons and Jan 1 for the Spring seasons.
Sorry no exceptions.
Players must reside within the CELINA ISD school zone to be eligible to play without a release.
Birth Certificates
All players must present an official birth certificate to complete the registration. PASO
does NOT accept hospital records of birth. We accept copies of government issued birth
certificates and passports only! Team placement will be delayed until the player’s record
of birth is on file. If the record is not on file, a spot will not be held for the player.
Age Groups
See the age pure chart to determine the age division into which your child will be placed.
Players are placed into divisions, usually by default, according to the players date of birth
as listed on the players registration. Players may make a request to play up into the next
age division or to play outside of the default age group. Final consideration is made by CRA.
See other FAQ's for more information about playing outside of an age group.
Special Requests
a. Players who sat out and skipped no more than 1 season (Non Consecutive Players) may
request to return to the previous team.
b. Players may request to play up to the next age division.
c. Players may request to play with a sibling.
d. Players may request to play with a friend - (THIS REQUEST IS FOR NEW PLAYERS IN THE U6
AND UNDER DIVISION ONLY).
All special requests must be specifically made at the time of registration. CRA makes an
effort to honor a special request, BUT THEY ARE NOT GUARANTEED! Any other request will not be
considered.
Player Status
Returning Players - Players who played the previous season and are returning to the same
team or requesting a new team.
New Players - Players who are first time players with Prosper Soccer.
Previous Players - Players who have played previously with CRA who have skipped more
than 1 season.
Non Consecutive Players - Players who have skipped (sat out) no more than 1 season
and are making a request to return to the same previous team. Request to
return to the last team played are considered for these players. There
are several considerations made before this request can be made. THIS
REQUEST IS NOT GUARANTEED.
Team Formation
Returning teams are formed by first placing all the players back to their previous team
as requested. Players who want a new team are placed into the player pool to be drafted to
a new team.
Non-Consecutive players are placed into the player pool until a determination is made that
there is room available (roster size for all teams in the divisions is considered before a
decisions is made to return the non consecutive player as requested) on their previous team.
All players who are new are placed into the player pool.
A count is taken of all players and the number of teams. If there are not
enough teams to accommodate all of the players, then a new coach is sought out
and a new team is formed. If there are more teams (with coaches) and not
enough players, then the team with the least amount of returning players is disbanded.
Players are placed onto teams randomly. The only considerations are special requests.
Team Disbandment
All teams are held over from season to season until a determination is made if
there are enough players to fill the team. If there are not enough
players to fill all of the teams, the team with the least amount of players
will be disbanded first. An exception may be made if the team does not
have a coach. Players will not be notified if the team is
disbanded. The players from the disbanded teams will be placed into the
player pool and will be drawn to another team. Only the coach will be
notified of a team disbandment.
Playing In Other Age Groups
Players are allowed to 'play up' an age group by special request. This request
must be specifically made at the time of registration. A request to play
up more than 1 year is reviewed directly by the league commissioner and may be
approved or not, only in very limited circumstances.
Players are only allowed to 'play down' in limited circumstances with the approval of
the North Texas State Soccer Association. A request to 'play down' should
be made to CRA at least 3 weeks prior to the last day of registration.
All requests to play outside of a players default age group must be made specifically
at the time of registration. All requests must be approved by CRA and are not guaranteed.
Skipped A Season
A player, who skips no more than 1 season, may make a request to return to the
same team. That player is considered a non consecutive player if the CRA
records indicate that the player: a) skipped no more than 1 season
b) was on the same team he/she is requesting to return. If the
player is found not to be a non-consecutive player, the player will then be
placed into the player pool in his/her age group.
CRA Boundaries
The boundaries of CRA are the Celina ISD and the city of Celina. Players must
reside within those boundaries to register with CRA without a release. Any city that does
not have a soccer association can play with CRA without a release (some exceptions may apply).
Contact soccer director for more information.
Releases
Players who reside outside of CRA but want to register here, must request a release
from the home association from where they reside. CRA will not complete a
registration for players who require a release form without the signed form
from their home association. Some associations may charge a fee for the release.
Players who reside within the CRA boundaries who wish to play under another association
may request a release from CRA. Contact soccer director for more information.
Fees
See fee schedule at the registration page. Fees cover registration
only. Players must provide their own equipment. Not all teams have
sponsors. You may incur additional fees for uniforms.
Financial Assistance
Financial assistance for registration fees is available. An application must be
completed for each player. CRA will not refund any fees that have already
been paid on behalf of a player. To be considered for financial assistance, you
must specify this on the registration form.
Refund Policy
Only players for whom CRA cannot provide a team, on which a child can play, will be
refunded registration and late fees (with the exception of any online
transaction fee). ALL other refunds will be minus a $25 administrative processing fee.
Otherwise, the following guidelines will apply:
No refunds will be given to a player after he/she has participated in a team
practice and/or any games.
If the family discount was applied it will be deducted from the refund as applicable.
Late fees are not refundable.
Online transaction fees are never refundable.
To be considered for a refund:
All requests for refunds must be received in writing to the CRA. (Can be done via email)
All requests for refunds must be initiated by the parent or player in writing and
forwarded to the CRA, using the Refund Request form. A coach may report a
withdrawal of a player but may not request a refund on behalf of the player.
Coaching
CRA is a volunteer organization that depends on volunteer parent coaches. The
more coaches there are, the more children that can participate. Please
consider coaching! If there are not enough coaches then the number of
teams decreases and the number of players who can participate decreases.
If you plan on being at your child's practices and games, then you can
coach. Coaches set the practice times, dates, locations so they may have
practice when it is convenient. A background check is required once per soccer year.
Once we have you signed up as a coach CRA will contact you about this document. A coaches
licensing clinic is required and must be attended within the soccer year.
If you would like to coach, please note your interest on your child's registration
form. If you are making a request after you have registered your child you must contact
the Soccer Director so the player file can be updated.
Coaches are required to give players rest periods during practices so children may get water.
All volunteers must complete a background check. Do not make any request on
this form, as they are not shared.
Referees
It is the goal of CRA to provide a referee for every game. Referees are
licensed by USSF/NTSSA and in many cases are Prosper and Celina area
youth. Be respectful and do not openly question an officials judgment and
honesty. Verbal abuse of a referee from parents, coaches, and players is
strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. An offense can result in a
suspension from the league.
For more information regarding referee's please visit Referee Page.
Uniform and Equipment
Players must provide their own equipment. Shin guards, cleats, etc. See
Parents page for more information.
CRA does not allow the use of shoes with metal cleats or a toe cleat (like a
baseball/football) shoe. Players must wear shin guards during the games and
practices and must bring a water bottle as well. It is recommended that parents
or coaches purchase an inexpensive spray bottle to mist their players during breaks.
Although many teams have sponsors, it is possible that uniform fees may be incurred. The
coach of the team will inform you on what he/she has selected for the
team. Uniform fees can vary.
Awards
Players in the U9 and under division will receive a participation award.
Players in the U10 division who do not receive a place award, will receive a participation award.
Players in the U11 and U12 division who qualify will receive place awards (according to
PASO standings and bylaws). The U12 'bracket' is broken into two leagues
for trophies and placement, the U11 and U12 age pure teams will each be awarded
place trophies according to standings.
Teams that participate in a playing league other than PASO, are subject to the award
rules within the league in which the team participates.
Practice and Games
Practice days, times, and locations are set by the coach of the team. CRA does not
regulate when or where the team will practice. Be prepared for practice any day of the week.
NOTE: Any conflicts with practice times should be resolved with the coach of the team
to which the player has been assigned. At the time of team formation, all
teams are filled and rosters are set, players will not be swapped or traded.
Games:
All teams will be scheduled for 10 games. Most games will be scheduled on
Saturdays but you may expect 2-4 weekday games during the season. Games
may also be scheduled on Sundays if necessary. Games may be played at
Warren Sports Complex, Pizza Hut Park, Bacchus Park, Rucker Elementary, and Old Celina Park.
Playing Time
CRA requires that all players play 50% of each game. Coaches may reduce
playing time in divisions U12 and over (under strict guidelines) for disciplinary reasons.
The league commissioner will investigate all reports of reduced playing time.
When Will The Coach Call ?
You can expect a call from the coach of your child's team approximately 3 weeks
prior to opening day. Be prepared with the players equipment prior to
that time. Please contact the soccer director if you have not heard from
the coach by that time.
Rules and Bylaws
Rules and By-laws are voted on at the CRA board meetings held once a month.
Upon registering with CRA, all members agree to adhere to the Rules and Bylaws set
forth by CRA, NTSSA, USYSA, USSF,FIFA, PASO and FSA.
Earrings, Casts, Watches, etc.
A player must not use equipment or wear anything that is dangerous to himself or
another player (including any kind of jewelry). This includes, but is not
limited to, earrings of any kind, bracelets, watches, necklaces, hair
decorations, etc. Players will not be allowed to participate in the game
until the item has been removed.
Casts may be allowed if properly padded. This decision is made at the field by
the referee of the player’s game.
